Birmingham, ALWilliam Fredrick Evans Jr. was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on Highway 31 at 10:50 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic sign, then crossed Morris Majestic Road and hit a tree. Witnesses believe he may have been experiencing a medical emergency at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
