The top was down on the car, a BMW, at the time of the crash, but Rapp, who was wearing a seat belt, was trapped inside. Rapp was extricated from the vehicle and then flown by medevac to Hackensack Trauma Center. Lt. James MacIntosh said that Rapp did not suffer life-threatening injuries and that he was conscious and alert at the scene.
