Authorities say a fatal pedestrian collision occurred Sunday afternoon on Franklin Road in Marietta, killing Joe Lewis Burns, 78, of Marietta. The driver of a minivan lost control and struck Burns, then traveled through a fence and down an embankment. The minivan’s driver, Ashli Mitchell, 18, was transported to Kennestone Hospital and was listed in stable condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
