Georgia Department of Public Safety officials say an ambulance was transporting Tracy Thomas of Coweta County to a local hospital on a non-emergency call just after midnight Wednesday when a front tire on the vehicle went off of the road's shoulder and into a ditch. At this point the ambulance became airborne, rotated, struck a utility pole, and overturned. The accident occurred while the ambulance was westbound on Georgia 34 near Chatsworth Place.
