A Detroit Lions practice squad member drove through a non-working traffic light in a Downriver suburb and broad-sided another car, seriously injuring the 32-year-old Dearborn driver, Taylor Police said today.

The driver, identified in police reports as Angela Marie Chantelois, suffered head injuries in the Nov. 17 accident.

Brandon Hepburn, a rookie linebacker for the team, is likely to be cited in the accident.

A 44-year-old man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a guard rail on the Michigan Street off ramp on southbound Interstate 5 early Sunday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was traveling at a high-rate of speed when he struck the barrier and was thrown from his black 1987 Honda.

The accident happened at 1:20 a.m. The patrol said the off ramp was closed for two-and-a-half hours.

A 26-year-old Utah man has been killed in a single-vehicle rollover in Idaho. The Idaho State Patrol says Chet Atkinson of Weston died in the crash on Highway 36 near Preston about 6:40 p.m. Sunday. Troopers say he was headed east in a Dodge pickup truck when he drifted off the south side of the highway near mile marker 132. Investigators say he apparently over-corrected before he crashed through a guard rail and rolled down an embankment. Atkinson was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

But the University of Pennsylvania medical school graduate and Wilmington, Del., native performed a real-life good deed far from any television cameras and without any media attention this weekend when he helped a woman from a car at a crash scene in lower Bucks County on Saturday.

A Lake Stevens woman was booked into the King County Jail early Sunday after a wrong-way crash on I-5. It happened just before 12:30 a.m. on northbound I-5 at Northeast 145th Street. The Washington State Patrol stated that the 22-year-old driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and hit a Ford Edge. One of the three people in the Edge was injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center. The driver of the F-150 and her passenger, a 24-year-old Mukilteo woman, were not hurt.

The 43-year-old driver of a pickup truck was in custody Sunday night for investigation of vehicular assault after the vehicle went through a guardrail, rolled off Interstate 5 in Federal Way and trapped the driver and a passenger inside, according to the Washington State Patrol. The crash happened at I-5 and South 288th Street at approx. 7:00 p.m. The driver was also being investigated for DUI. The passenger was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

A man died Sunday night after the Mustang he was riding in crashed into a power transformer off Columbia Way, just east of the Interstate 5 Bridge. The accident happened at 8:43 p.m. Two other occupants were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, one in critical condition, said Vancouver Fire Battalion Chief Chris Lines. He said he was not certain how badly the other passenger was hurt. Lines said he believed the three men were 20 to 25 years old. He said he was not certain which direction the Mustang had been headed. The car wound up facing east against the transformer.
