A man in his 40s was killed after he was struck by an inbound Green Line MBTA trolley while walking in the tunnel between the Kenmore and Fenway stations Wednesday night, according to the MBTA.

The victim, who was not identified, was struck around 9 p.m. and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with “very serious injuries,” said a spokesman. The man was later pronounced dead.
