An overturned tanker truck on Buford Highway snarled traffic in DeKalb County on Tuesday. The tanker overturned on the ramp from Interstate 285 eastbound to Buford Highway around 5 p.m. As of 10 p.m., all lanes on the ramp were blocked and southbound traffic on Buford Highway was being diverted through the left turn lane. Crews worked to transfer the tanker's 8,500 gallons of fuel into other vehicles.

Georgia State Patrol officials say a newlywed bride was killed in a crash hours after her wedding reception in north Georgia.

State patrol officials stated that Kali Dobson was thrown from a car Sunday night in Ball Ground after the car she and her husband were riding in rolled into an embankment.

A neighbor says the groom, later identified as Ryan Quinton, 28, was stumbling up the road with a bloodied, torn shirt after the crash. Thomas says he called 911 and tried comforting the man with a prayer while they waited for emergency responders to arrive.

Lawrenceville police shut down all lanes of Georgia Highway 120 at Medical Center Boulevard after a pedestrian was struck and killed.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Investigators stated that it was not a hit and run.

The latest wreck on a metro Atlanta freeway system that features names such as Spaghetti Junction, Peach Passes and HOT lanes involved a ham jam.

A truck hauling 40,000 pounds of hams overturned, spilling the cargo onto an interstate ramp south of Atlanta. Authorities were working early Thursday to clear the ramp from Old National Highway to Interstate 85 southbound after the crash around 4 a.m.

The cab of the truck was destroyed in the crash, which also caused a diesel fuel spill.

CSX says one of its Intermodal trains going from Memphis, Tenn., to Savannah, Ga., on what's called the Bow Line derailed Thursday afternoon in Nicholls, which is northwest of Waycross. The derailment happened about 1 p.m. Fifteen cars jumped the tracks and several overturned, including three shipping containers that were loaded with liquor. There was spillage, and the cleanup is expected to continue into Friday. No one was hurt in the derailment. The cause is under investigation

Two people have died after a private jet went down in northwest Atlanta Tuesday evening.

The Raytheon 390 Premier I multi-engine plane went down shortly after taking off from Fulton County Airport.

The plane, registered to an Atlanta-area company, was en route to New Orleans, La.

The plane crashed near the 2200 block of Thomas Road, near the Chattahoochee River in the northwest part of the city.

UPDATE: The pilot of the aircraft has been identified as Peter J. Mallen. 12/18/13.

A mechanical issue with a tire may have caused a Henry County wreck that killed one person and seriously injured another, police said Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on I-75 southbound just south of Jodeco Road and blocked two lanes for several hours, according to Henry County police. Around 3:30 p.m., all lanes of I-75 were re-opened.

Investigators believe a problem with a tire may have caused the white F-150 to overturn, ejecting both the driver and a passenger, Smith said. The single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.

Crashes on Interstate 95 in Glynn County that blocked all northbound traffic Tuesday afternoon have resulted in two deaths, and Georgia highway officials say the highway may remain closed for hours.

A late morning accident just before the State Road 27 exit involved a tractor-trailer that caught fire and a car.

Authorities say I-95 northbound is closed from exit 22 to exit 42. Traffic is being diverted onto U.S. 17 through Brunswick, then back on I-95 at exit 40.

A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday morning on a Gwinnett County interstate ramp.

The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. on the collector/distributor ramp from Ga. 20/Buford Drive to I-85 northbound, Gwinnett police said.

Police said the man, who was possibly homeless, crossed the southbound lanes of the interstate, then the northbound lanes, and was hit while crossing the northbound ramp.
Investigators have a possible identification on the man, but will not release his name until relatives are notified.

Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit is currently investigating a fatal multi-vehicle accident that occurred Monday on Ronald Reagan Parkway near Five Forks Trickum Road that closed all lanes in both directions.

Three vehicles were involved in the incident. One of the drivers died at the scene as a result of the accident. One child was transported to Scottish Rite Pediatric Hospital for treatment. No further information about other injuries or the extent of injuries has been released.
