One woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened around 1:15 a.m. Sunday along Pulaski Highway near Brookmont Drive, south of Newark. The driver of a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder was speeding and failed to stop for a red light, and struck a 2013 Nissan Altima. The passenger of the Nissan Altima, 22-year-old Alexis DeFrancesco, was transported to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

The bodies of two horses -- killed when a tractor trailer slammed into them on a Delaware highway -- caused another vehicle to overturn early Saturday morning, injuring two people. A 2004 Nissan pick-up truck swerved to avoid the horses, which were lying in the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 13 near Greenwood Road in Greenwood, Sussex County, around 4:30 a.m., entered the center median and overturned. Medics sent the driver, 56-year-old William Dennis, and his 56-year-old passenger to Naticoke Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

At around 8:45am, Robert Baker was towning a tractor trailer with Lynam in it out of a muddy field. The hook then broke off and flew through the tractor trailer's window, hitting Lynam in the torso. He was taken to a hospital before being pronounced dead.

Carl Timm, 39, of Richardson, Texas, died early Wednesday morning when he attempted to cross a state highway intersection and a car crashed into him, then crashed into an ambulance. The incident occured in Newark, Delaware around 1:00 a.m. on October 15. Timm did not use a crosswalk when crossing, and police believe he may have been drinking. Moses Tamba, 30, who drove the car, did not receive injuries. Those in the ambulance were also  uninjured.

Three people have been injured in a crash involving a school bus and two other vehicles took place around 3:45 p.m., at Kennett Pike and Sunnyside Road. All three injuries occurred to people in the other two vehicles involved in the wreck. Two of the injured were taken to a nearby hospital while the third victim was treated at the scene. None of the nine students on board the bus were injured.

A tour bus with about 50 passengers overturned on a Delaware highway on Sunday, leaving two women dead and sending the others to area hospitals with injuries ranging from mild to severe, state police said. A 54-year-old woman was killed after she was thrown from the bus. A 30-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital late on Sunday night from trauma suffered during the crash, Shavack said.  Officials had earlier said the crash occurred in the adjacent city of Bear.

The unidentified teens were riding their dirt bikes at the intersection of A and Townsend Streets around 4 p.m. Sunday when they collided with a black or dark blue Tahoe/Yukon type SUV. The SUV fled the scene of the accident. The teens were taken to the AI DuPont Hospital for Children where they are currently in critical condition.

Del. State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one person and left another seriously injured.

Around 10:10 p.m. on Thursday evening, a 60-year-old male from Delmar was driving a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle on Sussex Highway (US 13) in the right lane approximately one quarter mile north of Iron Hill Road.

It’s believed an unknown vehicle may have pulled out in front of the motorcycle, causing the driver to lock the brakes and lay the motorcycle down to avoid contact.

Police are investigating a car accident that claimed the life of a Delaware teenager.

Investigators say 18-year-old Adrian Holt of Seaford was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday in the right lane of Sussex Highway just north of Bethel Concord Road.

As he was driving, Holt somehow lost control of his vehicle and crashed onto the grass median, flipping over several times.

Holt was ejected from the Jeep and landed onto the southbound lanes of US 13.

A 49-year-old man from Newark, Delaware is dead after a head-on crash Saturday evening. David A. Christian died in the wreck at 7:26 p.m. on Sunset Lake Road south of Dayett Mill Road in Newark. Police say that, for an unknown reason, Christian's pickup truck crossed over the double yellow line and into the path of another pickup truck. Police say Christian was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other pickup truck, 52-year -old Jeffrey Grayson of Newark, was properly restrained, police said.
