Sunday, March 30, 2014A Lancaster County teenager was hit by a truck while riding his bike in East Hempfield Township on Monday.
Liam Bielawa, 17, suffered a broken neck, back, ribs and other injuries. Doctors say he has a long recovery ahead of him.
The accident happened on a busy stretch of State Road in East Hempfield Township. Liam's family says the trucker who hit him did not stop and may not have known anyone was hit.
"I'm sure he knows he was passing the bicycle but didn't realize that he hit something, that Liam ran into him," said Daniel Bielawa, Liam's father.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014Two people were transported Wednesday morning to area hospitals after a two-vehicle crash on Route 283 westbound in East Hempfield Township in which a Jeep Wrangler overturned.
The driver of the Wrangler was ejected from the vehicle, but suffered injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, township police said. The crash occurred around 6:03 a.m. and briefly blocked both westbound lanes of Route 283 in the area of Spooky Nook Road.
