Police in Burlington, North Carolina report that an impaired teen drove their car into a post office. The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 PM at the post office on Maple Avenue. The investigators' report states that George Desimone, 17, veered off of Broad street and then entered a parking lot before slamming into the front of the post office. Nobody was inside the building at the time. According to police, Desimone was using an intoxicating inhalant while operating the vehicle. He was released into the custody of his parents, who promised to bring him to court.

Jose Manuel Galvan, of Burlington, was charged with DWI following a two-vehicle crash at the 1900 block of Maple Avenue in Burlington, North Carolina. The accident occured around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 26 when Galvan attempted to turn left onto south Maple Avenue when his Mazda collided with a Lexus that had the right of way. After the collision, the Lexus crashed into the Ray's Mini Storage building. Both people received injuries not considered life-threatening. Galvan was charged with driving without a lisence and failure to yield.
