Two injured after head-on collision on Route 66 in East Hampton, CT

For reasons unknown, a car driving on Route 66 suddenly crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle head-on. As a result of the crash, one person was airlifted to Hartford Hospital and another one was taken via ambulance, though no other details are available. Reed was hit by a car driven by Jackie Cunningham, 59, on Route 66 Monday night in Middlefield, Connecticut. The incident occured around 10:27 p.m. on October 27, 2014. Reed sustained injuries to lower extremities as well as suffered head trauma. Cunningham has been charged with DUI after failing a field sobriety test.
