Michael Washburn was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed on McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu City. When his motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck, Washburn sustained serious injuries that cost him his life. He died about 3 and a half hours later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

A car driving east on Union Hills turned in front of a westbound motorcyclist at the intersection of 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The motorcyclist, Jeffrey Alan Barker, was killed in the accident.

Michael Eugene Thomsen was driving east on a motorcycle on Bell Road near Seventh Avenue at about 8:30 Sunday morning when a truck turning south on to Seventh Avenue struck him, according to Phoenix police. Thomsen was not wearing a helmet. He was brought to a hospital, where he later died.

The boy was not wearing a helmet and was riding in a place he was told not to go and lost control. Fortunately, the boy's 14-year-old cousin was able to lift the quad off of him and call for help. The boy is in the Phoenix Children's Hospital and is expected to recover.

The man who died in an accident on the Loop 202 in central Phoenix Saturday has been identified. Frederick C. Manske was driving his three-wheel motorcycle westbound on the freeway near 24th Street when he hit the car in front of him that had slowed down.

A motorcycle wreck on Interstate 10 at Queen Creek Road closed the westbound lanes of the freeway Wednesday morning, according to officials. Arizona Department of Public Safety officials worked alongside the Gila River Police Department to close the freeway at 8:30 a.m., said a DPS spokesman. The lanes were reopened about an hour and a half later, just before 10 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The motorcyclist was traveling faster than the speed of traffic on I-10 when he hit the back of an SUV and tumbled across the freeway, according to Garcia.

A Phoenix garbage-truck driver failed to yield before the truck collided with a motorcycle Thursday afternoon in a wreck that left the motorcyclist in critical condition, according to Phoenix police. The truck was leaving the driveway of the Carefree Transfer Station near Deer Valley Road and 16th Street in north Phoenix at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday and the driver did not yield for an eastbound Yamaha motorcyclist, said a spokesman with the Phoenix police. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, hit the front of the truck and was ejected from the bike.

A 7-year-old Mesa girl was hospitalized with severe head injuries after the all-terrain vehicle she was driving crashed into a block wall Sunday afternoon. Mesa police said the crash happened about 3:40 p.m. in the area of Broadway Road and Longmore. The girl was not wearing a helmet while on the ATV, which was built for a child, said a Mesa Fire Department spokesman said. Officials said the girl was being taught by her father to ride the ATV. The girl was taken to Maricopa Medical Center for treatment and reported in stable condition, according to police.
