An 80-year-old man from St. Paul died in a rollover crash the night of Thanksgiving in Dakota County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, David Jones was eastbound in the right lane of Highway 110 near Highway 149 when he went off the road and rolled. The one-vehicle crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Jones was ejected from his vehicle and died from his injuries, the state patrol reported.

A city spokesman says five children rescued from a car that veered off a highway ramp in suburban Minneapolis and landed in a holding pond were unresponsive when they were pulled from the water. City spokesman Jamie Zwilling was on the scene of the accident Thursday morning in St. Louis Park at Highways 7 and 100. Zwilling says the mother of the children made it out of the car when it landed in the water but that the children were in the submerged car for about 20 minutes.

A brother driving himself and three siblings in his Milaca family to school north of the Twin Cities pulled his minivan into the path of a semitrailer truck less than a mile from their destination, leaving his 13-year-old sister dead in a broadside collision, authorities said. The crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. Tuesday at the T-intersection of Hwy. 23 and 127th Avenue, just west of Milaca, according to the State Patrol. Killed was Katrina E. Maetzold, 13, the patrol said. No one in the van was wearing seat belts, the patrol added.

A woman and her 6-year-old son were identified Sunday as the victims who died in a two-vehicle crash near on ic-slick Hwy. 212 in Carver County. Three other people were hurt but are expected to survive. The accident happened at 1:50 p.m. Saturday and involved a vehicle driving east that spun out and into the path of a pickup truck heading the opposite direction. Killed were two passengers in the car: Angelica Salas, 29, of Lester Prairie, Minn., and 6-year-old son Jorge E. Salas.
