A teen driver died in a single-vehicle accident Saturday night on on Plattner Pike in southwest of New Knoxville. Shelby Fear, 19, of New Bremen, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger, 18-year-old Tristan Hoffmaster, also of New Bremen, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Joint Township Hospital in Saint Marys. Fear was not wearing a seat belt while driving a 2008 Dodge Stratus. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, crashed into several trees, and landed upside down.

Two people are dead and two others are injured after an accident near the Ross County, Pike County line. Troopers were called to U.S. 23 near Woods Hollow Road on the report of a crash at about 10:40 a.m. Sunday. Troopers said two pick-up trucks were involved and two people died in the crash. Two other people, including Penny Sowards, were injured in the crash, both sustaining life-threatening injuries. U.S. 23 is closed in both directions in the area while Troopers investigate the crash and crews work to clean the scene.

Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Madison County Sunday afternoon. Madison Township fire crews responded to the 5000 block of Winchester Pike on the report of a crash at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday. Three people were transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions. Winchester Pike was closed while officials investigated, but has since been reopened.
