A Middletown man was killed when his vehicle went off the side of Ohio 63 and crashed into a tree. Tommy Christopher David, 44, was driving west when he lost control of a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus he was operating on Ohio 63 just east of Heritage Green Drive. David’s vehicle went off the right side of the road and down a hill, and then hit a fence and then a tree. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The initial investigation indicates speed was a contributing factor in the crash. It was later determined that the crash happened in connection with a police pursuit.

William Edward Sandstrom, 39, of Elizabethtown, was arrested Sunday near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania after he lost control of his vehicle and it rolled. The incident occured around 1:00 a.m. on October 19 when Sanstrom, who was driving drunk at a high speed and assaulting his female passenger, crashed at the intersection of Linglestown Road and Crooked Hill Road. Sanstrom was arrested with charges of assault, DUI, reckless driving, and driving at an unsafe speed. He was released on $5,000 unsecure bail.

44-year-old Paul J. Boes was flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. According to investigators, Boes was driving too fast for conditions and was not wearing a helmet.

A Mechanicsburg teenager was arrested Thursday night after police in Upper Allen Township said the 16-year-old was found driving under the influence of drugs in a hit-and-run crash. The incident occurred around 8:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive. A BMW Sedan, which was located by police several blocks away, struck a curb and caused property damage in the area of the crash. The sedan also sustained disabling damage in the incident.
