35-year-old Joseph Harvey was seriously injured on Tuesday when he was struck by a car in the 7000 block of 35th Avenue Northeast on the Tulalip Reservation. The family of the victim, who is believed to be a transient living on the reservation, told investigators he was near the road talking on his cellphone shortly before he was hit. The driver of the car reported that he stopped and pulled over after something struck and shattered his windshield. When he got out, the driver saw the victim lying off the roadway.
State Patrol troopers are investigating the cause of an accident near midnight Saturday that sent five people to the hospital. One person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other four men were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Troopers said the crash occurred on the southbound onramp to I-5 just south of Fourth Street in Marysville. A 1997 Acura driven by an Everett man, 25, was stopped in one of the lanes with its headlights off when it was hit by a 1994 Ford pickup that was changing lanes. The pickup was driven by an Everett man, 54.
A man driving a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in the 12700 block of Smokey Point Boulevard, officials said. Police didn't release the man's name, pending notification of his family. His age and hometown were not immediately available. He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but died within hours of the crash. The accident occurred shortly after noon. The motorcycle collided with a SUV and then a pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction, according to Marysville police report. A woman from Marysville was driving the SUV.
The crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
