A Nevada City man died Tuesday night in a head-on crash on Highway 20 in the Penn Valley area. The collision occurred about 8:18 p.m. on Highway 20 near Pleasant Valley Road. California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Greg Tassone said a 1995 Jeep Wrangler was eastbound on Highway 20 approaching a line of westbound vehicles, when the Jeep for unknown reasons drifted over the double yellow center lines. It sideswiped a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, causing the driver of the Jeep to lose control of the vehicle.

A 57-year-old Colusa woman died this afternoon in a collision on Highway 99 in Sutter County. The collision occurred about 4:05 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old Yuba City man was driving a 2002 Ford Escape eastbound on O’Banion Road, south of Yuba City, approaching Highway 99, and failed to stop at the stop sign. He entered Highway 99 directly in the path of a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Impala.

Troopers from the Marysville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigation a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Route 33 in Paris Township Thursday afternoon. Troopers responded to the U.S. 33, near the entrance ramp from U.S. Route 36/state Route 4 south, at about 4:05 p.m. on a report of a crash involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle. According to the report, Xingyu You, 24, of Columbus, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord east on U.S. 33 when You lost control of his vehicle, drove through the grass median, and into the westbound lanes of U.S. 33.

A woman and her 1-year-old child were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Union County Thursday afternoon. Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash involving two passenger vehicles and a semi on state Route 31, just south of state Route 739, at about 2:40 p.m.

35-year-old Joseph Harvey was seriously injured on Tuesday when he was struck by a car in the 7000 block of 35th Avenue Northeast on the Tulalip Reservation. The family of the victim, who is believed to be a transient living on the reservation, told investigators he was near the road talking on his cellphone shortly before he was hit. The driver of the car reported that he stopped and pulled over after something struck and shattered his windshield. When he got out, the driver saw the victim lying off the roadway.

A father was jailed after he drove away without talking to officers about running over his 4-year-old son who had fallen out of their van near a central Ohio construction site, fatally injuring the boy, according to the State Highway Patrol. Natividad de Jesus Hernandez, 30, of Columbus, was arrested Thursday after showing up at a hospital where his son, Angel Gustbabo Hernandez, died after the accident earlier in Union County, northwest of Columbus.

Police were investigating a fatal accident Wednesday morning involving a pedestrian and a train. The incident occurred near the railroad crossing at 172nd Street, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. The victim is male. Age and identification were not immediately available. Commuters who use 172nd Street were urged to use alternate routes. The street was blocked by the train until 8:30 a.m. UPDATE: The victim has been identified as David R. Herold.

State Patrol troopers are investigating the cause of an accident near midnight Saturday that sent five people to the hospital. One person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other four men were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Troopers said the crash occurred on the southbound onramp to I-5 just south of Fourth Street in Marysville. A 1997 Acura driven by an Everett man, 25, was stopped in one of the lanes with its headlights off when it was hit by a 1994 Ford pickup that was changing lanes. The pickup was driven by an Everett man, 54.

A man driving a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in the 12700 block of Smokey Point Boulevard, officials said. Police didn't release the man's name, pending notification of his family. His age and hometown were not immediately available. He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but died within hours of the crash. The accident occurred shortly after noon. The motorcycle collided with a SUV and then a pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction, according to Marysville police report. A woman from Marysville was driving the SUV.
