Two people died in an accident on Highway 101 near Potlatch State Park in Mason County. The driver of a Honda Accord lost control Tuesday and the car spun, crossing the center line and colliding with an oncoming Kenworth truck hauling two empty flatbed trailers. Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell identified the dead as Mary Irene Johnson, 51, of Hoodsport, and Richard Lee Bieniek, 52, of Hoquiam. The driver of the semi was not hurt.

About 7:40 p.m. Saturday, the woman had stopped her car in the southbound lane near Field Road and was putting gas in it when a 24-year-old Bow man traveling southbound in that lane struck her with his car. The South Kitsap High School student was walking to her school bus stop when she was hit. The 52-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Kitsap County sheriff's office said at the time he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and wasn't speeding.

Four people were injured, two of them seriously, in a head-on crash on State Route 169 near Enumclaw. The accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. just north of 416th Street.When crews arrived, they found two vehicles that had crashed head-on and two injured victims were in each vehicle. Three victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center, two of which were airlifted due to the severity of their injuries. One victim was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw.What to do immediately after a serious accident
