UNION COUNTY, Ohio -
A Kenton man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Union County early Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to state Route 31, just north of state Route 347 at about 5:37 a.m. on a report of a three-vehicle crash.
A man died while scuba diving near the Edmonds ferry dock on Saturday afternoon.
A ferry crew notified 911 dispatchers when they spotted the diver floating in the water near the dock at about 12:15 p.m.
"The crew deployed a small rescue boat from the ferry and brought the diver to the beach south of the dock. Firefighters on the beach performed CPR, but were unable to revive the diver," said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1, which provides fire and emergency medical service in the City of Edmonds.
Two children hit their heads when a school bus and a semi truck crashed near Marysville.
The crash occurred on Highway 9 at 84th Street shortly after 9 a.m.
Both an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old hit their heads during the crash and were transported to the hospital as a precaution, according to the Mukilteo School District.
The Washington State Patrol said their injuries were minor. The driver was not hurt.
The two children were the only passengers on the bus.
A teenage boy was killed and a teenage girl was critically injured after they were hit by a freight train while walking to a high school dance in Northern California Friday evening, authorities said.
The accident happened near Marysville' only high school and a little league park where a game was being played, CalFire Capt. Dennis Hunt said.
The boy, later identified as Mateus Gabriel Moore, 16, died at the scene and the girl, later identified as Mickayla Friend, was airlifted to hospital with traumatic injuries, Hunt said.
A Marysville child was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after a one-car collision on Highway 530 near Darrington Saturday morning.
The girl, 2, was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon.
A Marysville man, 27, also was injured. He was treated and released from Cascade Valley Hospital.
The Washington State Patrol said the man was driving a Honda Civic eastbound when he rolled the car. It ran into a private driveway before landing in a ditch.
One person was flown to a Columbus hospital after a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon.
A man was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with head injuries.
The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. on state Route 4.
It was not known if the man was wearing a helmet.
State Route 4 was closed in both directions while emergency crews were on the scene.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
A Nevada City man died Tuesday night in a head-on crash on Highway 20 in the Penn Valley area.
The collision occurred about 8:18 p.m. on Highway 20 near Pleasant Valley Road. California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Greg Tassone said a 1995 Jeep Wrangler was eastbound on Highway 20 approaching a line of westbound vehicles, when the Jeep for unknown reasons drifted over the double yellow center lines. It sideswiped a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, causing the driver of the Jeep to lose control of the vehicle.
A 57-year-old Colusa woman died this afternoon in a collision on Highway 99 in Sutter County.
The collision occurred about 4:05 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old Yuba City man was driving a 2002 Ford Escape eastbound on O’Banion Road, south of Yuba City, approaching Highway 99, and failed to stop at the stop sign. He entered Highway 99 directly in the path of a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Impala.
