Yvonne Orr, 73, killed, after her car collides with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Alabama 20 and Jesse Jackson Parkway near North Courtland.

A North Courtland woman died this morning after her car collided with an 18-wheeler traveling east on Alabama 20, officials said.

Yvonne Orr, 73, was pronounced dead at Lawrence Medical Center, the Lawrence County Coroner said.

Officials said Orr was driving a Toyota Corolla that was crossing Alabama 20 at Jesse Jackson Parkway.

The Corolla was lodged underneath the 18-wheeler’s trailer.

Traffic on Alabama 20 was stopped after the accident, but later resumed.

The accident occurred between 9 and 10 a.m. The scene was cleared about 11:15
