Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a small plane to crash in Mohave County, killing two brothers on board.

Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the pilot, Daulton Rey Whatcott, 19, was flying with his brother, Jaxon McKee Whatcott, 16, from Bountiful, UT to Mesquite, NV.

The 1969 Cessna 172k fixed-wing single engine went down about 150 feet south of Interstate 15 in Littlefield, near the Utah border about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

A suspected drunken driver is in custody after police said he struck and killed a pedestrian crossing a Phoenix roadway mid-block and then sped away.

The driver, later identified as Vernon Traylor, 66, was heading southbound in the area of 1800 N. 32nd Street just before 9 p.m. Friday, Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said.

Traylor hit 53-year-old Ruben Jimenez Solis, Martos said. Solis initially stopped at the scene but when police arrived, he accelerated and sped away.

A South Carolina man and a teenager were killed in a plane crash near Page, AZ.

The pilot has been identified as Mike Trotter, 47, and the passenger is Dakota Jacks. Jacks was a family friend.

A crew with the Arizona wing of the Civil Air Patrol has located what is believed to be the wreckage of a plane that vanished after departing from the airport in Page, AZ, on Friday.

Phoenix police have identified the bicyclist who died Saturday after crashing into a semi-truck.

Rubina Pina Herrara, 57, was riding his bike west on the north sidewalk of Buckeye Road near 24th Avenue about 4 p.m. when he swerved to avoid a light pole and lost control of his bike, Phoenix Police Department spokesman Officer James Holmes said. He fell into the road and hit the side of the semi-truck, which had been driving in the curb lane.

A bicyclist is dead after the man fell into a Phoenix roadway and struck the side of a tractor-trailer Saturday afternoon.

The victim, Rubin Pina Herrera, 57, was on a sidewalk near Buckeye Road and 24th Avenue at around 4 p.m.

The man swerved to avoid striking a telephone pole, lost control of the bicycle, fell into the roadway and struck the side of the truck that had been traveling west on Buckeye in the curb lane, said Phoenix police spokesman Officer James Holmes.

A Phoenix man is dead after his SUV was rear ended by another vehicle overnight in Phoenix.

Police spokesman Officer James Holmes said 47-year-old Christopher James Kutcher died after the SUV he was driving was hit from behind by a drunk driver.

A 58-year-old man has died after he allegedly rolled through a stop sign at North 35th Avenue and collided with another vehicle.

Alejandro Arturo Montes was headed eastbound on West Monte Vista Road about 6 p.m. Thursday when he failed to stop or yield at the sign posted on 35th Avenue, Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson said.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office has identified two people killed in a one-vehicle crash near Tonopah.

The victims were 35-year-old Laura Roberts and 41-year-old Justin Burts.

A passer-by saw an overturned vehicle about 5:30 a.m. in the area of Wickenburg and Baseline roads in unincorporated Maricopa County and later found the victims' bodies several feet from the vehicle, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed and a second was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Benson on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred about 7:40 a.m., and tire-tread separation was a contributing factor, said Raúl Garcia, spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The vehicle was eastbound on Interstate 10 about eight miles east of Benson when the agents crashed, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The driver of a SUV was killed when he suddenly drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a moving truck Wednesday afternoon, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

Kenneth Jerger died instantly in the crash on University at 67th Street, according to MCSO. A passenger in his vehicle was hurt.

Three people in the moving truck also suffered minor injuries.
