The wreck occurred about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday near Thunderbird Boulevard and 99th Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Office. The black SUV was heading west on Thunderbird Boulevardwhen it hit the white golf cart traveling north on 99th Drive, according to a sheriff's spokesman.

John Orville Armstrong, 89, received fatal head injuries in the crash, spokesman Joaquin Enriquez said Tuesday night.
