Head-on collision on SR-94 kills one.

At least one person died after a wrong-way driver on east state Route 94 crashed head-on into another vehicle near Oak Park early Sunday morning, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

A person was killed early Sunday during a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles on state Route 94 in central San Diego. The crash occurred at about 2:16 a.m. on eastbound SR-94 east of Federal Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a suspected drunken driver was behind the wheel of a black BMW that entered the wrong side of the freeway and slammed into a black Nissan Sentra, killing the other driver instantly. The BMW's driver and passenger were both transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital. The extent of their injuries and their conditions were unknown.
