Pedestrian killed trying to cross I-5 in San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol said all lanes of southbound Interstate 5 near the Coronado Bridge have been reopened after a pedestrian was struck and killed on the freeway Wednesday night.
The lanes were closed for about six hours and reopened at 2 a.m.
The incident was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the CHPl, the pedestrian was struck by at least three vehicles. One of the vehicles stopped, and its driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The CHP says the pedestrian was trying to run across the freeway when he or she was struck.
