A state snow plow was involved in a fatal traffic collision Tuesday near Cripple Creek. The crash involving the snow plow and another vehicle happened on Colorado 67, said a Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman. The person who died in the incident is not the snow plow driver, but was in the other vehicle, Ford said. The Colorado State Patrol is on scene investigating. The crash happened at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday about 12 miles south of Divide, state patrol Capt. Charles Cargin told the Gazette. A pickup truck on Colorado 67 lost control on a sweeping right turn, hitting the blade of the snow plow, Cargin said. The driver of the pickup died at the scene, Cargin said. The highway has been closed and alternate routes are advised.
