Boulder coroner ID's man killed in Louisville motorcycle accident as Chad Blodget.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist killed in an accident Monday in Louisville as Chad Blodget, 36, of Boulder.

Blodget died at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette after he was involved in a collision with an SUV on South Boulder Road at 7:40 a.m. Monday.

The Colorado State Patrol said Blodget was on a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle headed east on South Boulder Road when a 2004 Toyota Highlander headed west on South Boulder Road made a left onto McCaslin Boulevard in front of him.

Blodget tried to avoid the car, but hit the front-right side of the SUV, officials said.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office will conduct an investigation to determine the official cause and manner of death.

The driver of the SUV, Robert Whelton, 45, was not injured. No citations have been issued pending an investigation.
