Brent Horsmann, 30, killed, after he is struck by a hit and run driver, while riding his bicycle on U.S. 1 near Sharpes.
A 30-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night on U.S. 1, and investigators seek to locate the unidentified hit-and-run driver.
Brent Horsmann of Cocoa died in the 11:30 p.m. crash at U.S. 1 just south of Williams Point Boulevard, a short street north of Camp Road, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Horsmann was pedaling north on the west paved shoulder of U.S. 1 — against the flow of traffic — when a southbound vehicle struck him, troopers said.
After reviewing surveillance video Monday, Florida Highway Patrol troopers are now looking for the driver of a dark-colored pickup truck that was pulling a trailer.
The truck has four doors and a diamond-plated tool box in the flatbed.
