The accident happened in the early morning hours of September 11th. Surveillance cameras at a nearby business captured what appears to be a gray or light colored minivan hitting Eberl as he walked along Mile Stretch Drive in Holiday. The driver never stopped.

Pasco County man flew 100 feet in hit-and-run crash, investigators say

Investigators say he flew nearly 100 feet before landing in a ditch.

About 40 minutes later, a woman found Eberl, called 911 and stayed with him until paramedics arrived.

Authorities search for vehicle that may have struck Pasco pedestrian

But after reviewing surveillance footage, investigators now believe that Eberl may have been struck by an unidentified vehicle. The FHP did not release any other information about the victim's condition.
Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Steve Gaskins says it's unlikely the driver didn't know the van hit something. The highway patrol is asking for anyone with any information to give troopers a call.
