New surveillance shows Tampa boy's death as hit and run

Based on the video, detectives are searching for a dark green, possibly black, 2000 - 2004 Ford Expedition. Anyone with information about the car is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-tip or the Tampa Police Department at 813 231-6130.

Surveillance video from two businesses has Tampa Police investigating 4-year-old Marterrance Albury's death as a hit and run.

Originally, because of a witness statement, officers thought Marterrance fell out of an SUV and was run over by the rear wheels. Now, officers believe Marterrance was never in a vehicle, but instead, wandered into the street and was hit by the driver of a Ford Expedition who drove off.

Marterrance's 17-year-old brother was supposed to be watching the little boy around 9:45 p.m. Sunday. That's when a driver called 911, telling police that they witnesses a child being pushed or falling from an SUV at North Florida and 109th Avenue.

On Monday night police received a second video that indicates Marterrance may have wandered into the street and became the victim of a hit and run.

Police are still looking for a 2000-2004 Ford Expedition. They tell us no one in the family has a vehicle like it.

“What kind of a human being could do this to a child and walk away like they did nothing?" Rosemary Williams, Marterrance's grandmother, said. "Even if he didn't want to get caught he could've taken my grand baby to a hospital and he could've laid him there and drove off."

Based on the video, detectives are searching for a dark green, possibly black, 2000 - 2004 Ford Expedition. Anyone with information about the car is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-tip or the Tampa Police Department at 813 231-6130.
