BRUNSWICK | A member of a vacationing South Carolina family was killed and five others injured late Monday in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 just north of Glynn-Camden county line, the Georgia State Patrol said.
The family of six from Duncan, S.C., was traveling south on I-95 in a 2004 Ford Expedition when a tire blew out just before 6 p.m. causing the vehicle to overturn, Pfc. Kevin Ziegler of the Georgia State Patrol said.
Authorities say a 52-year-old Kingsland woman was killed and her husband suffered critical injuries in a four-vehicle crash near the Georgia coast.
Renee Dowdy died Sunday when a pickup truck crashed into the back of her husband's car. A Georgia State Patrol Trooper says the impact was strong enough to push the car into two other vehicles waiting in a turning lane of the Golden Isles Parkway in Brunswick.
Dowdy's husband, 50-year-old Daryl Dowdy, was air-lifted to a hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was listed in critical condition Sunday night.
