A trooper at the scene reported the Explorer left its lane, crossed the concrete median and traveled in the oncoming lane where it struck the tractor trailer head-on.

GSP says the crash involved a tractor trailer and a Ford Explorer. For some unknown reason, the driver of the SUV drifted from their travel lane, crossed the concrete median and into oncoming traffic. The Explorer crashed head-on into a tractor trailer.

CBS46 has confirmed that a fifth person has died as a result of an accident that occurred in Hall County Monday morning. The latest victim was a 3-year-old child. We also have learned the identities of two of the victims. The driver is identified as 34-year-old Amanda Pardue and the front seat passenger as 53-year-old Robbie Harris. Both are from Gainesville. Police also say 13-year-old Dalton Martin also died in the crash. The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. Monday on Athens Highway and Oak Grove Road. GSP says the crash involved a tractor trailer and a Ford Explorer. For some unknown reason, the driver of the SUV drifted from their travel lane, crossed the concrete median and into oncoming traffic. The Explorer crashed head-on into a tractor trailer. Five people in the Explorer were killed. The tractor trailer driver was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical and is listed as in stable condition.
