Head-on collision kills woman on U.S. Highway 2.

A head-on collision killed a 39-year-old Newport woman on U.S. Highway 2 between Oldtown and Priest River on Friday afternoon, according to the Idaho State Police.

Christopher Jewsbury, 50, of Spokane, was westbound in a pickup truck about 5:15 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and sideswiped an eastbound Chevy Trailblazer driven by David Oakes, 61, of Olympia, according to the ISP. Jewsbury then crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by Amy Brady, of Newport, who was behind Oakes. Brady, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jewsbury was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was not wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash is being investigated, the ISP said.

What money damages are recoverable in a death claim? Every death from an accident is tragic. When a death is the result of someone else’s negligence, certain survivors may make a wrongful death claim against those responsible. Close relatives may recover monetary damages for the loss of financial support, as well as for medical, funeral, and burial expenses, lost earnings, and in some cases for pain, suffering, and loss of love and affection. Learn more about wrongful death claims here…

Comments

Despite it being shown that Christopher Jewsbury was under the influence at the time of the accident he has yet to be charged with anything as of 23rd September 2014. This is apparently the justice that my sister Amy who was also a veteran of the armed forces fought for. I'd personally like to give a great big thanks for nothing to Roger Hanlon who is the prosecuting attorney for this case and has refused to take any of my calls or call me back as of this time.
