Chicago police have released the identity of the man killed in a car crash on the North Side.

Police are investigating if weather played a role in a deadly crash in Chicago.

According to authorities, the 64-year-old driver hit a tree and then crashed into a store front in the 6200-block of North Pulaski at approximately 1 a.m.

Paramedics say the man died at the scene.

UPDATE: Jose Vidal has been identified as the victim in this accident. 12/15/13

Although the intentions are good; It is truly disrespectful to Jose and to his family for someone to reply on a post stating that he was a heavy drinker and that this may have been the reason behind the accident. clearly, police have a strong indication that weather, or a faulty vehicle part was the cause of the accident. Please do not respond to the post with negative comments as a family is still grieving.

Jose was never known as pinga. Andrei is a jackass. Also, Jose was not a heavy drinker, as he rarely indulged. The night of this crash there was one of many terrible snowstorms in Chicago.

Also, the word "pinga" is a trashy slang word. please regain from using it while referring to the decrease

Jose who was well known as Pinga was a friend of mine. He was a mechanic who worked with my father in law at the Dispatch Taxi Assoc. on Elston. I am shocked to hear about his death. I pray still that the LORD has mercy on his soul. Pinga was known to be a heavy drinker and the story goes that he was drunk when this happened. God bless his family and friends and help them get through this tragic moments. RIP Jose, you were always loved by MANY.
