A person struck by a Chicago Transit Authority Orange Line train on Tuesday morning has been identified as a man from the city's south side.

Robert Becker, of the 4700 block of South Ada Street, was pronounced dead after being hit by a southbound CTA train near the Ashland station at about 8:40 a.m.

Service was temporarily suspended between Western and Halsted as a result of the crash.
