A Wheeling police officer’s vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday morning in the northwest suburb.Police could not provide details Sunday morning on how many vehicles were involved in the accident, or the name of the deceased person.
A 25-year-old New Athens man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning. According to the coroner’s office, McGovern was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at 5:06 a.m.
