Illinois State Police have identified the driver of a car that crashed on Interstate 57 early Saturday, killing one of his passengers. Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Brent McCullough, 36, of Rantoul, was given a notice to appear in Champaign County Circuit Court at a later date to face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. McCullough's passenger, Eric L. Lowery, 34, of Rantoul, was killed in the crash that happened just before 2 a.m.
