Michael Chadbourne, 16, died Monday afternoon at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was taken there Friday after being pulled from the Big Blue River where he attempted to rescue a friend from a swift current.

Jason Moran also died after he, Chadbourne and two other teens tried to come to the aid of Sarah McLevish, who got swept below part of the dam on the Big Blue River on Friday while the five teens were swimming.

A second teen caught over the weekend in the turbulent waters of a dam near Edinburgh has died.

Michael Chadbourne, 16, died Monday, according to the Marion County coroner's office.

Jason Moran also died after he, Chadbourne and two other teens tried to come to the aid of Sarah McLevish, who got swept below part of the dam on the Big Blue River on Friday while the five teens were swimming.

A memorial service for Moran, announced before the news of Chadbourne's death, will be held in the Franklin Community High School gym Wednesday.

The service will begin at 7 p.m., according to a statement from the school district. Calling hours are from 1 to 7 p.m. A private funeral for family will take place Thursday.

McLevish and Chadbourne were pulled from the water in critical condition. McLevish was "in stable condition and critical care," Dave Sever, assistant superintendent for Franklin Community Schools, said Monday afternoon.

The other two teens, Mark Nally and Trent Crabb, were uninjured.

Moran disappeared under the water. His body was found Sunday.

The district won't be giving public updates on the condition of McLevish other than what the family wants to share, Sever said.

"Franklin Community Schools and the entire Franklin community would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Moran family, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the rest of the families involved," the school's statement said.

The statement was issued before Chadbourne died.

The district has formed the FCHS Family Fund, and people can mail donations to the school or make donations at Horizon or Heartland Community banks. The high school's address is 2600 Cumberland Drive, Franklin, IN 46131.
