Two killed in West Baton Rouge crash early Saturday

The crash occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on U.S. 190, west of La. 983 in West Baton Rouge Parish, Trooper 1st Class Jared Sandifer said. The 2003 Acura TL, driven by Michael R. Fornea, 31, of Baton Rouge, was heading eastbound on U.S. 190 when it slammed into the back of the 2006 Ford tow truck, also heading east and driven by Donnie Snoke, 41, of Washington, Sandifer said. Fornea and the passenger, Jesse L. Gaudin, 27, of Gonzales, were both wearing their seat belts, but suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, Sandifer said.

Two people were killed early Saturday (Sept. 20) in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 190 west of Bueche Road in West Baton Rouge Parish.

Two Killed after Driver Rear-Ends Tow Truck on US Hwy 190

Shortly before 1:30 am on September 20, 2014, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on US Hwy 190 west of LA Hwy 983 (Bueche Rd.) in West Baton Parish. The crash took the lives of 31 year old Michael R. Fornea of Baton Rouge and his passenger, 27 year old Jesse L. Gaudin of Gonzales.
State Police suspect that Fornea was speeding when he rear-ended a tow truck, killing both him and passenger in the car. The driver of the tow truck, Donnie Snoke, 41, of Washington, was not injured. Troopers suspect Fornea was speeding at the time of the crash, but he is not suspected of impairment.
