A Westwego woman has died from injuries she suffered Tuesday, when the motorcycle she was riding struck a concrete barrier on Clearview Parkway in Elmwood, the Louisiana State Police said Saturday.

A Westwego woman has died from injuries she suffered Tuesday, when the motorcycle she was riding struck a concrete barrier on Clearview Parkway in Elmwood, the Louisiana State Police said Saturday. Renee Folse, 44, died Wednesday. The accident remains under investigation.

Folse was riding a 2000 Harley Davidson north on Clearview when she struck the concrete divider that separates the highway from the left turn lane at East Corporate Drive, Trooper 1st Class Melissa Matey said in a news release.

Folse, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle.

She was taken to Interim LSU Hospital with critical injuries, according to the news release. State Police Troop B was notified Wednesday that Folse had died.

Troopers are still investigating the crash. A toxicology test, to determine whether Folse was impaired, is pending, according to State Police.
