Sonnier was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson south on La. 343, south of La. 98 in Acadia Parish, when a northbound 2002 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Theresa A. Guidry turned left in front of him. Sonnier struck the rear of Guidry’s car, causing the rider and his motorcycle to roll left, veer off the road and hit a ditch, David said.

Sonnier was pronounced dead at a hospital after the 10:30 p.m. accident. The car driver was cited for making an improper turn. Alcohol is not suspected.
