Witnesses told MSP that a car headed southeast on M-115 at a high rate of speed tried to pass another vehicle. The driver then lost control and the car skidded into the path of a semi-truck headed the other direction.
Report: Man charged in fatal crash
Joshua Fournier was arraigned on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death, UpNorthLive.com reports.
The woman who died had been sleeping in the back of the car when the crash happened and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the car ran away from the scene of the crash but was later arrested, and only sustained minor injuries. No one in the semi-truck was hurt.
