The intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Windmill Lane has reopened to traffic after being closed for nearly seven hours because of a fatal crash that left two people dead. The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. According to police, the driver of pickup truck was speeding southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard and rear-ended a moped stopped at a red light. Both people on the moped were thrown more than 100 feet. One person died at the scene and the other died at University Medical Center. A third car was also hit by the vehicles. Police say the driver of the pickup truck left the scene and abandoned the SUV about a half-mile from the crash scene. Police are still searching for that driver. Police did trace the vehicle's registration to a home, but no one answered the door. Police did arrest three other people unrelated to the crash for suspected drunk driving. Those drivers were taken into custody after driving through the crash scene. UPDATE: Police have identified one of the victims as Phillip Le Nguyen, 21. 03/18/14. UPDATE: The other victim of this accident has been identified as Nicholas Monday, 20. 03/21/14
