Simpson was riding a 2001 Suzuki GSXR600 northbound on Route 29 in the passing lane when a 2014 Dodge Durango operated by a 36-year-old Trenton resident made a left turn from southbount Route 29 in front of him, Maruca said. Simpson's motorcycle struck the rear passenger wheel, pushing the Durango about 20 feet from the point of impact, Maruca said.

Leonard Simpson Jr, 24, of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:30 a.m. crash. Despite wearing a helmet, Simpson suffered severe head trauma when he was thrown from the bike. The collision is under investigation, but no charges have been filed.
