21-year-old motorcycle rider killed in Route 80 crash, State Police say

Alec Bloom, 21, of Andover was traveling east on Route 80 at about 11:38 a.m. when his motorcycle crashed into the back of an International flatbed truck that was stopped in traffic near mile post 42, State Police spokesperson Sgt. Greg Williams said.

At about 11:38 a.m., a motorcycle rear-ended a box truck that may have been stopped in traffic near Exit 42 for Route 202/Littleton Road, State Police spokesperson Trooper Alina Spies said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m., Spies said.
Bloom's helmet was off and underneath the truck when State Police arrived at the scene, and it's believed that Bloom's head struck the truck's underride crash bar, knocking his helmet off.
