A 24-year-old Town of Tonawanda woman was listed in stable condition in Erie County Medical Center, after her vehicle went off the road, over an embankment and into a tree Sunday afternoon in the Town of Sardinia, sheriff’s officials reported.

Kristen Lichterfeld lost control of her car while traveling west on Allen Road at about 4:40 p.m. After striking the tree, the vehicle rolled over onto its roof, according to police reports.
Lichterfeld was taken by a friend to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital before being transferred to ECMC.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
