A 74-year-old Geauga County woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning. Jane Kay Gonczy, of Burton, was pronounced deceased at Ahuja Hospital in Geauga County after the collision, which occurred just before 10 a.m. on Ohio 44 in Portage County. The crash remains under investigation. Gonczy, mother of two sons, lived for 46 years in Burton with her husband of 50 years.

A 23-year-old Burton man died in a crash this afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle on Ohio 700, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. Gino Igoe was northbound on the road when his motorcycle crossed the center line at a curve and was struck by an oncoming car around 12:50 p.m.. Igoe was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, the patrol report said. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash that occurred about a quarter of a mile south of Hubbard Road, the patrol said.

Authorities will file homicide charges against a Burton Township man accused of crashing into an Amish buggy on Sunday, killing a 28-year-old man, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Lt. Mark Neff said charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, drunken driving and driving with a suspended license will be filed against Douglas S. Learn, 42. Learn is accused of driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system and slamming into the buggy about 9 p.m. Sunday on Tavern Road north of Ohio 700.
