Danny Unger, 43, killed in single vehicle crash on North Court Street in Circleville on July 20.

Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a crash in Pickaway County last weekend.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Danny Unger, 43, of Columbus.

The crash occurred on North Court Street in Circleville at about 3:10 p.m. Sunday.

According to deputies, a 2004 Chevy Cavalier was traveling north on North Court Street at a high rate of speed when the vehicle traveled into the middle of the roadway and struck a Norfolk and Southern Bridge abutment head on.

Deputies say the vehicle burst into flames following the crash. Unger, who was trapped inside of the vehicle, was killed in the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
