Erin was vibrant and driven before the accident.  She worked in a veterinary office, about to start school to be a vet tech.   She says she has mixed feelings about the woman driving the other car. "Some days I get really mad and some days I just don't care.”

Patty please call me 614-832-7297. I am Erin's step father and we need to get a better idea of what happened Thank you so much

We did not witness the actual impact, however did drive up on immediate aftermath. Emergency personnel not yet there. HORRIBLE! Seeing Erin in the position and physical state at roadside view shook me to the core. One drink legally places any driver " under the influence" Be smart! Not ignorant. Don't drink and drive

Iam sorry for what has happened to Erin. But I want Erin and her family to know that it has been a true pleasure to take care of Erin as her nurse. It brings tears to my eyes to see what happened to her and joy to my heart to see how well she has progressed. GOD Bless you Erin you are the reason I love being a nurse! KEEP UP THE GREAT WIRK :-)

Hi, I have been following this story since it happened... Is there any update on Erin?

My heart is broken. Erin was a Vet Tech where I take my cats. Her love for animals was a gift. She has been moved to a long term care facility, where hopefully she can get back her life.

Erin is a friend of mine, I hope to God this other woman who hit her gets the punishment deserved!! Dammit people don't drink an drive, Let's pray for her an I hope she gets well very soon and yes we do need harsher laws, so when's that going to happen?

What's her condition right now?

Angela almost hit my car as well. I was one of the first on the scene. We need harsher laws for drunk drivers. This women was all over the road and now left a 23 year old innocent girl clinging to life. I'm outraged.

For some reason I am just now seeing this. It is a very emotional time for me being the first year after the accident. I am still currently in outpatient physical therapy, but I only have 2 left! I am by far no where close to what I used to be physically, but I hope maybe someday I will get close. I mean I am biased but I think I'm all there mentally! I really don't remember a few weeks before the accident and about a month or so after. I try most days to not be angry but thankful I am alive and thankful I am not a vegetable! I find keeping my sense of humor helps. The only thing I hope for is that people learn from this and that people take driving after consuming isn't a joke. Next time it could be your daughter, niece or best friend or even you.  Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. I truly think that is what kept me going for the past year. To all the clients from the clinic I hope to be back soon! Maybe not all day everyday like before but some is better than none! I miss you and your furry children! I still talk to Dr.B and Jo to keep tabs on you all. Again thank you! Much love <3

I too pray for Erin to get back to her "normal" way of life before the terrible accident. My wife is a nurse who works with Angela who is also a cancer nurse. Angela IS a wonderful caring hard working person who was at a fund raising affair for cancer who "from what I'm told does NOT drink and drive" but she made that terrible choice to get behind the wheel after drinking. I am NOT defending her, but nobody knows IF the alcohol was the factor that made her go left of center. I don't know why she did I'm just saying that alcohol may or may not have made her go left of center. I do know Angela has never been in trouble with the law and has devoted her life to helping people with cancer be more comfortable with usually the end of their life. It takes a special person to watch people die daily and continue to giving comfort and support knowing what the outcome usually will be.  I know I always said that if a drunk driver hit my son and hurt him I would want them to rot in prison, and then when this happens and I really feel for Erin, I can't help but feel so sad for Angela because I know that she really is an angel like all the cancer nurse are!! My prayers for you Erin if you read this and may GOD help in your healing and in your forgiveness. Don't let anger consume you.
