A Utica 11-year old was killed Sunday when the all-terrain vehicle he was driving without permission flipped.

But Robert says the children had been on the same ATV earlier in the day with no issue. “I know he didn't do anything wrong. I know this was not his fault. He wasn't driving it, he didn't steal it.”

Cephas and two other youths had taken the vehicle out for an unsupervised, "joyride" when Cephas flipped the four-wheeler while rounding a dirt curve. The two passengers were thrown clear, but Cephas suffered a serious head injury and died at the scene.
