Dump truck crash shuts down U.S. 42

A minivan became trapped underneath a dump truck around 3:10 p.m. after the truck reportedly went off the roadway at U.S. 42 East and Hickman Road.
Carl Schmedeke, who was driving the dump truck, lost control as he tried to avoid a car that had slowed to make a left turn; the dump truck began to overturn. Unfortunately, right as this was happening, Judith Sandlin was underneath the tipping truck in a minivan. Judith managed to not be completely destroyed by the truck by swerving to the right, but it still pinned her inside her car. Fortunately, the worst injury she suffered was a broken wrist.
