54-year-old woman killed after her car fails to stop at the intersection of northbound Oregon 226 and Oregon 22 and crashes into a truck in Lyons, Oregon

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in Lyons after running through a stop sign and crashing into truck, police said. Oregon State Police said the 54-year-old woman was traveling at high speeds northbound on Oregon 226 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Oregon 22. The car then traveled through the T-intersection, crashed through a guardrail and flew about 70 feet before crashing into a truck parked in a meat market parking lot. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
